Lemmings Mass Suicide

What are lemmings? Some may believe that they are small rodents around the size of guinea pigs that are wild and known to commit mass suicide. Many people who believe this have seen Walt Disney's short film, White Wilderness. However, nobody really knew or understood why these animals did this. Because of this questioning, people wer unsure whether or not they did commit suicide. The big question is, Do lemmings, small rodents, known to commit mass suicide? You see, lemmings were said to have hurled themselves off of cliffs at the bottom of a valley or the bottom of a river. This myth exists because of the film, White Wilderness, created by Walt Disney. Many people, especially adults have seen this movie, and because they share their ideas on it, it spread quickly throughout the United States and Even the rest of the World.

Lemmings committing suicide is basically just an empty attempt to make a better life with a bitter ending. Lemmings, could just be trying to migrate when they die. They may be found  dead in open waters, but they are trying to relocate by swimming to a different land.

Bust the Myth:Finally, the moment all you readers have been waiting for. No, lemmings do not actually commit suicide. It was said that then filming crew of Disney's 1958 film, induced the rodents to jump off the cliffs. In other words, they essentially threw them. Snopes.com stated well that,"Lemming suicide is fiction. Contrary to popular belief, lemmings do not periodically hurl themselves into the sea."
